Frequently Asked Questions

The time I need to edit your manuscript depends on its length and the type of edit you choose. Typically, I can complete an edit on a 100,000-word manuscript within 3-5 weeks. If you have a tighter deadline, please let me know so we can discuss your needs.

In our first exchange, we will discuss the details of your story, and I’d also enjoy getting to know you! (You can reach out to me through my contact page.) If you’re a new client, I will ask to see a sample of the first 3 pages of your manuscript, and I will perform a light edit. That way, I can make sure I’m a good fit for you, and you can decide if you like my editing style before committing to a full edit.

After we correspond and solidify the details of your edit, you can send me your manuscript via email on the date that we have agreed upon.

Please send it formatted to an 8.5″ x 11″ size with numbered pages, 1″ margins, 0.5″ indents, double-spaced lines, and 12-point font (Times New Roman, Arial, or Calibri). I accept both Microsoft Word documents and Google Docs (I prefer Word, since it’s the industry standard.)

Please contact me to check my availability for your timeline. If your project is over 50k words and you need it edited in under two weeks, I will charge an additional rush fee of 25%.

Yes, I do. I require a non-refundable 50% deposit when I book your edit to save your spot, and I will invoice you for the remaining 50% before I return your manuscript. If you are sending me your manuscript via Google Docs, I require the final 50% balance due before I begin editing your manuscript.

Yes! If you’re a returning client, I offer a 10% discount on all future edits.
